Double Take, Double Face

First, there was this:

Glimmerglass by Jenna Black was published by St. Martin's Griffin May 2010.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis will be published by Razorbill in January 2011.

Discuss :)

  1. You know what, I think the images are just different enough that can stand alone. Because they each use a different picture, they evoke a different feeling. Will double face be the next cover trend?!

  2. I can't decide if they are the same stock photo just rotated, tinted, and cropped differently (because the noses and the facial features are near identical when you study it) or if they're two totally different photos. Both kind of creep me out, but the second one really does.

  3. I think that the second one is a boy and a girl, so it doesn't creep me out as much (but, I could really only tell that by the hair, not the facial features). I hadn't seen the cover for Across the Universe yet - I actually really like it!

  4. Now that I'm reading Across the Universe, I think the cover really fits it quite well. And the final cover has a starry purple background instead of white space, like so:
